Dinner at Pete’s

Tonight I was invited to Pete’s for a surprise dinner. Giny had a different meal this time, which was not the usual Italian Dinner.

Forth of July and the Big Sleepover

For the past 2 days I have been working with Ravi from Verizion trying to resolve a problem with my Iobi software.  Iobi is a neat program that Verizon has where you can manage all your phones on line or from your PC.  It is really easy to use, however, over the past few weeks, I have had problems getting the program to run.  It finally gave up the ghost and will not start.

The interesting part of this problem is that Ravi is using a remote terminal in Dallas TX and is able to take control of my PC just as if he were here.

Last night, my granddaughter Alyssa B and her friend Alyssa A called and wanted to know if they could sleep over in the tent in my backyard. I had purchased the tent 2 summers ago so Alyssa and her friends Taylor and Mariah could sleep in the backyard. Needless to say, that adventure lasted about 1 hour until Taylor started hearing animals and decided she did not like sleeping in the wild. Last night was a different story. We set up the tent around 8:00 PM and they pumped up the combo sleeping bag / mattress. All the nights stuff (flashlights, pillows, radio, and etc. were brought into the tent before dark. We then went to the local supermarket to get some ice cream, toppings, and whipped cream along with some food for breakfast.

All went well during the night with the exception of one episode. Leonard, the 14 year old cat decided that he wanted to come in around 12:15 this morning and started making his usual unusual noises which both woke me up and scared the kids. They woke up around 6:45 this morning and had to rush through breakfast as I had to get Alyssa B home so she could go the the parade with her mother and baby brother. They are fortunate in that they are going to get a ride in the fire engine that will be in the parade this year. I am supposed to get some pictures of that event, but who knows…..
